South Lebanese return to devastated villages after Israel-Hezbollah truce

Widow Umm Mohammed Bzeih returned to her badly damaged home in south Lebanon following the truce between Israel and Hezbollah, finding her house in disarray with shattered windows and food rotting in the kitchen. Despite the destruction, she expressed relief at being back, along with other returning residents, after Hezbollah-organised media tours revealed widespread devastation in the area caused by Israeli strikes. The violence has displaced nearly 900,000 people in Lebanon, with many homes destroyed and lives disrupted, leaving residents like Bzeih and others in anguish over the loss and destruction endured.
