Singapore’s edutech accelerator EduSpaze has revealed the selection of six early-stage Southeast Asian startups for its three-month programme.

The latest group of startups aligns with the accelerator’s goal of supporting the development of innovative solutions to enhance the education landscape in Singapore and the region.

The selected startups were chosen based on their market potential, scalability, strong founding team, and clear value proposition, showing great potential.

As part of the programme, the startups will receive seed funding and mentorship from industry experts, access to investors’ network, and opportunities to expand their businesses in the region.

“The Southeast Asia region presents unique challenges and opportunities, making it a vibrant area for professional endeavors. Each country in this region has its own distinct characteristics and obstacles, despite their geographical proximity. We see different levels of readiness for digital transformation among SEA countries,” said Alex Ng, Managing Director of EduSpaze.

For instance, with a 98% internet penetration rate among students in Singapore, the Edtech Masterplan 2030 focuses on creating an enhanced learning environment. “However, in countries with low internet penetration like Cambodia, the edtech policy focuses on expanding access to quality education for marginalized communities. Therefore, we are dedicated to supporting the growth of the eighth cohort to foster innovation and address the diverse educational needs in the SEA region,” Ng added.

EduSpaze, operating under Spaze Ventures and supported by Enterprise Singapore, aims to empower and uplift edutech startups in the region. Previous participants include Flying Cape, ClassPoint, and myFirst.

Here are profiles of the six startups:

Yaho Lab (Vietnam)

YAHO! is a platform connecting parents with tutors for children aged 2-12, providing in-home services within 24 hours.

Edvance (Malaysia)

Edvance offers school management systems digitizing various school operations and providing invoice-based lending solutions.

Quippy (Thailand and Hong Kong)

Quippy is an AI-based platform for learning Chinese speaking skills for K12 students.

School On Cloud (Singapore)

SOC offers personalized education products through an interactive online portal.

Safe Space (Singapore)

Safe Space provides mental health therapy care and preventive education both online and offline.

Sala Tech (Cambodia)

Sala is a marketplace connecting high school students with institutions and opportunities.
