Storm Bert brings heavy rain and strong winds

Storm Bert is causing heavy rain and strong winds in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, with yellow weather warnings in place until Saturday morning. More than 30,000 homes in the Republic of Ireland are without power, and Met Éireann has issued red warnings for heavy rain in certain areas. Storm Bert is the second named storm of the 2024/25 season and was preceded by disruptive snow in parts of Northern Ireland.
