What do we know about Russia’s new ballistic missile, Oreshnik?

President Putin confirmed that Russia tested a hypersonic intermediate-range missile in an assault on Dnipro, Ukraine, in response to Ukraine’s use of US- and UK-supplied missiles. The new ballistic missile, Oreshnik, is based on the “RS-26 Rubezh” ICBM and has multiple warheads. Putin stated that air defenses cannot intercept Oreshnik, and Russia may deploy more missiles based on US actions.
