Santé Québec U-turn: Dual-job workers clocking extra hours get one-year lifeline

The new Santé Québec health authority will allow workers with dual jobs in multiple hospitals an extra year to adjust to new rules limiting hours to 40 per week. This decision was made after concerns were raised about the impact of the restructuring on these workers, who will now have until the end of November to choose a single job. The province’s hospitals and clinics will be brought under a single employer on December 1, as part of the new Santé Québec health authority.
