Rātana Pā to receive $10m boost to fix failing marae buildings

Te Manuao and Orakeinui buildings at Rātana Pā will be upgraded with a $10.1 million grant to fix deteriorating structures, ensuring the preservation of national history and safer conditions for visitors. The funding will address roofing leaks, sinking foundations, and hazardous materials, with renovations focused on making the buildings sound and safe for future generations, including redesigning roofing, replacing flooring and walls, and prioritizing essential structural work to be completed by 2026.
