EU has supplied Ukraine with over 980,000 shells, Borrell says

The European Union has supplied Ukraine with over 980,000 shells for the war with Russia, aiming to reach 1 million by year-end, as confirmed by EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell. Despite initial setbacks in meeting production targets, efforts are being made to fulfill commitments, with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala leading a separate initiative to provide 500,000 shells. Ukraine has also ramped up domestic defense production to reduce reliance on allies and ensure timely supplies, with Kyiv now producing millions of mortar shells annually post-Russia’s invasion.
