Italian Ducati rider Nicolo Bulega narrowly defeated BMW’s championship leader Toprak Razgatlioglu in the closest finish in World Superbikes history at Estoril. Bulega’s victory in the superpole race cut Razgatlioglu’s series lead to 41 points with four races remaining, making him the only contender for the title. Six-time champion Jonathan Rea crashed but managed to finish in 22nd position, while defending champion Alvaro Bautista completed the podium in race one.
