New Christian McCaffrey Injury Update Isn’t Great

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey’s Achilles injury is not progressing well, as coach Kyle Shanahan announced that he will not be returning to practice soon and is unlikely to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the upcoming Super Bowl rematch. With backup running back Jordan Mason also dealing with a shoulder injury, third stringer Isaac Guerendo stepped up with an impressive performance against the Seattle Seahawks. McCaffrey’s return is now expected in early November, leaving the 49ers to rely on Mason and Guerendo in the meantime.
