Sri Lankan minister defends govt’s decision to allow Chinese military training ship

Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath defended the government’s decision to allow a Chinese military training ship to visit Colombo, stating it aligns with the country’s diplomatic engagements. He assured that the visit of the Chinese PLA Navy training warship “Po Lang” poses no threat and is part of an ocean-going voyage adhering to established guidelines. The ship arrived at the port of Colombo on Tuesday as part of its training mission.
