Sport Canterbury believes that removing cell phones from schools is a positive move, but warns that without an alternative, students may engage in troubling behavior. According to sector support manager Megan Harlick, the absence of phones leaves a void that needs to be filled with positive activities to prevent students from finding trouble on their own. Harlick emphasizes the importance of providing programs to occupy students, to avoid leaving a void that could be filled with negative influences.
