City in Florida providing M in opioid settlement money to nonprofits fighting opioid epidemic

The city of St. Petersburg, Florida, is allocating $1 million from an opioid settlement to nonprofit organizations addressing the opioid crisis through treatment and recovery support services. Over 18 years, the city will receive $6 million from the settlement to fill resource or service gaps in the community and offer grants for new and innovative proposals to combat the crisis, focusing on areas not already funded by existing sources.
