Nightingale removes AMD’s FSR 3 pre-launch for crashing too much

How does this make you feel?

AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3) has been available since September, but it is only featured in a few games compared to Nvidia’s DLSS 3. The highly anticipated game Nightingale has entered early access without FSR 3 due to reported crashes caused by the technology according to developer Inflexion Games.

Inflexion Games stated in a pre-launch update that FSR 3 was causing crashes during a Server Stress Test, leading them to temporarily remove it. However, they plan to reintroduce it in a future update, possibly as an older version of FidelityFX. Nvidia’s DLSS and Intel’s XeSS, similar technologies, are included in the early access launch of Nightingale.

While this is an isolated incident with FSR 3, it is worth noting that Nightingale runs on Unreal Engine 5, a popular game engine for visually intensive games on PC and consoles. Further comments from AMD representatives are pending.
