Leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft on April 25 in Detroit, various “experts” will be sharing their mock drafts on a weekly basis.

Stay updated with the latest predictions, top five picks, players on the rise and fall, surprise selections, and potential trades all in one place.

This week, the highlighted experts are Dan Parr from NFL.com and Kyle Stackpole and Josh Edwards from CBS Sports.

Pick No. 1 (Chicago Bears)

Parr, Stackpole, Edwards: USC QB Caleb Williams

The consensus is that the Bears will require a significant offer to trade away the No. 1 pick. Therefore, unless a team is willing to meet their demands, Chicago is expected to select the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner, Caleb Williams, who has impressive stats of 8,170 yards, 72 touchdowns, and just 10 interceptions from 2022-23.

Pick No. 2 (Washington Commanders)

Parr: UNC QB Drake Maye

Parr believes that UNC QB Drake Maye will be the second quarterback selected in the draft. Despite having only two years of starting experience, Maye has shown promise with 7,929 yards, 62 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions from 2022-23.

Stackpole, Edwards: LSU QB Jayden Daniels

On the other hand, Stackpole and Edwards are leaning towards LSU QB Jayden Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner known for his dual-threat abilities.

Pick No. 3 (New England Patriots)

Parr: Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

Parr suggests that the Patriots might opt for Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. if they are not enamored with the remaining quarterbacks. Harrison Jr. is a top playmaker with 144 catches, 2,474 yards, and 28 touchdowns from 2022-23.

Stackpole: UNC QB Drake Maye

Edwards: UNC QB Drake Maye (traded to Minnesota Vikings)

Edwards predicts a trade at pick No. 3 with the Patriots sending Drake Maye to the Vikings, providing Minnesota with a potential quarterback solution.

Pick No. 4 (Arizona Cardinals)

Parr: LSU QB Jayden Daniels (traded to Atlanta Falcons)

Parr speculates that the Falcons might trade up to secure LSU QB Jayden Daniels if he falls to No. 4, becoming their franchise quarterback.

Stackpole, Edwards: Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

Both Stackpole and Edwards believe that Arizona could benefit from selecting Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. to enhance their offensive options.

Pick No. 5 (Los Angeles Chargers)

Parr, Edwards: Notre Dame tackle Joe Alt

All three experts agree that the Chargers will prioritize strengthening their offensive line by selecting Notre Dame tackle Joe Alt, known for his solid pass protection.

Stackpole: Penn State tackle Olumuyiwa Fashanu

However, Stackpole suggests that the Chargers might also consider Penn State tackle Olumuyiwa Fashanu, who has excelled in pass protection.

Players on the rise

Parr: Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy (No. 10, traded to Las Vegas Raiders)

Stackpole: McCarthy (No. 13 to Las Vegas Raiders)

Edwards: McCarthy (No. 12 to Denver Broncos)

The experts believe that Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy’s draft stock is rising after his impressive performance, potentially making him a top-10 pick.

Players falling

Parr, Stackpole, Edwards: Iowa CB Cooper DeJean (Pick No. 25 to Green Bay Packers)

Despite being highly ranked, all three experts predict that Iowa CB Cooper DeJean will fall to pick No. 25 in the draft.

Surprise picks

Parr: Oregon QB Bo Nix (No. 18, traded to Denver Broncos)

Parr suggests that the Broncos might make a surprising move by selecting Oregon QB Bo Nix, who had a standout season in 2023.

Stackpole: Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. (No. 26, traded to Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Stackpole proposes that the Buccaneers could consider Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. as a potential replacement for Baker Mayfield if needed.
