Search for missing persons following Venezuela’s earthquakes

Posters displaying the faces of the deceased have filled La Guaira and Caracas as families search for missing loved ones following a devastating earthquake. While over 6,000 people have been rescued, many families face the grim task of identifying the dead, with numerous bodies already buried nameless. The United Nations Development Programme estimates the quake generated 1.2 million tonnes of debris, complicating recovery efforts and raising fears that many victims may never be found.
