A security guard at the Islamic Center in San Diego, Amin Abdullah, was killed while preventing two teenage shooters from entering the mosque during an attack being investigated as a hate crime. At least three people were killed, and police stated that Abdullah’s actions likely saved lives, particularly as children were present at a nearby school. The suspects later took their own lives a few blocks away.
