Polish court approves extradition of Russian archaeologist to Ukraine

Poland plans to extradite Alexander Butyagin, a Russian archaeologist linked to illegal excavations in occupied Crimea, to Ukraine. A Warsaw court approved the extradition after Ukraine accused Butyagin of causing significant damage to an archaeological site and illegally seizing valuable ancient coins. The Kremlin condemned the extradition as politically motivated, asserting that Crimea is Russian territory. If convicted, Butyagin could face up to five years in prison.
