Huntley dies following attack by fellow inmate

Ian Huntley, a notorious child killer in the UK, has died following an assault in prison. The 52-year-old was attacked with a metal bar by inmate Anthony Russell at Frankland prison and was on life support before his death. Huntley was convicted in 2003 for the murders of 10-year-olds Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, whose disappearance in 2002 captured national attention. An investigation into the incident leading to Huntley’s death is ongoing.
