US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that American forces would not intentionally target a school following reports of over 160 casualties from a strike on a girls’ school in Minab, Iran, during the first day of US and Israeli military actions. The incident has drawn condemnation from UNESCO and activists like Malala Yousafzai, as such attacks on civilian structures are considered war crimes under international law. The Pentagon is investigating the reports amid ongoing military operations.
