Grand Forks Red River junior Caden Ulmer, who suffered a chin injury during the first period, scored a hat trick in a 5-1 victory over Jamestown in the quarterfinals of the North Dakota state boys hockey tournament. After initially trailing, Red River regrouped and secured their spot in the semifinals against West Fargo Sheyenne, a team they have historically performed well against. Ulmer’s three goals bring his season total to 31.
