DNA Leads in Nancy Guthrie Case via Genetic Genealogy

Investigators in Arizona are utilizing genetic genealogy to analyze DNA evidence in the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie, who was reportedly abducted from her home. Despite nearly three weeks passing without identifying a suspect, DNA from gloves found nearby did not match any records in the FBI’s CoDIS database. Authorities are now exploring commercial DNA databases to further their investigation. This technique has previously solved notable cases, including the Golden State Killer and the Idaho college student murders.
