A Hamilton soldier, 24-year-old Sebastian Halmagean, who died near Riga, Latvia on January 29, is being buried today in Burlington, Ontario. His death is under investigation, and a graveside service is set for 11:30 a.m. ET at Woodland Cemetery, which will be livestreamed. Halmagean, on his first deployment, previously served in firefighting efforts in Newfoundland and was remembered by his father and local MP Ned Kuruc as a dedicated and intelligent individual.
