Thailand’s incumbent party, the conservative Bhumjaithai, has gained the lead in the general election with around 194 seats out of 500. A coalition may be necessary as parties need 251 seats to elect a prime minister. The People’s Party and Pheu Thai trail behind with around 116 and 76 seats respectively. The party list nominees’ seat allocation is subject to change as the vote count continues.
