DPP lodges appeal against Cathal Crotty’s suspended sentence

The Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has lodged an appeal against the suspended sentence given to Cathal Crotty, who was convicted of assaulting a man outside a nightclub. The DPP argues that the sentence is too lenient given the severity of the crime. The appeal will now be heard by the Court of Appeal.
