Woman Discovers Python in Bedroom at Night

An Australian woman, Rachel Bloor, awoke to find a 2.5-meter carpet python coiled on her chest in her Brisbane bedroom, mistaking it initially for her dog. After waking her husband, who confirmed the presence of the snake, Bloor prioritized removing her dogs from the room before calmly handling the snake herself and ushering it out through a window. The python likely entered through plantation shutters, and Bloor expressed relief it wasn’t another animal, as snake sightings increase due to breeding season and housing developments encroaching on their habitats. Snake catcher Kurt Whyte noted that common household features could provide easy access for snakes seeking shelter.
