Gogolev wins first Canadian figure skating title Moves closer to Olympic qualification

Stephen Gogolev, a 21-year-old from Toronto, won his first national title at the Canadian figure skating championships, scoring 175.90 in the free program and a total of 275.50 points. Roman Sadovsky took silver with 255.10 points, while Aleksa Rakic earned bronze with 246.02. With the Olympic team announcement imminent, Gogolev’s performance solidifies his position as a favorite for the sole men’s singles spot at the Milan Games. Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier also excelled, leading in ice dance with a personal best score of 93.11.
