Explosions and smoke have been reported in Caracas, Venezuela, amid tensions with the United States, with at least seven explosions and low-flying aircraft heard in the city. The southern area near a major military base is without electricity. President Maduro indicated openness to negotiate with the US on drug trafficking, while accusing the US of attempting to topple his government through sanctions and military pressure. The US military recently struck alleged drug-smuggling boats, resulting in fatalities.
