Authorities in Venezuela have released over 60 detainees arrested during protests against President Nicolas Maduro’s re-election following the disputed July 2024 vote. The Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners welcomed the releases but highlighted the continued detention of at least 902 political prisoners. Despite ongoing efforts for full freedom, hundreds remain behind bars, with many families still awaiting the release of their loved ones.
