Five people died in a helicopter crash on Mount Kilimanjaro during a medical evacuation mission. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening along a popular climbing route, killing two foreign nationals, a local doctor, a tour guide, and the pilot at over 4,000 meters. The aircraft, operated by Kilimanjaro Aviation, has prompted an investigation by the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority. Aircraft accidents on Kilimanjaro are rare, with the last incident occurring in November 2008.
