Ford, who announced he would not be visiting Florida this year, claimed that Florida’s economy was suffering due to decreased Canadian travel. While Canadian visitors to Florida decreased by 20% in the second quarter, the state primarily attracts domestic travelers, with 69 million out of 75 million visitors coming from within the U.S. A recent report indicated that the decline in Canadian tourism is negatively impacting businesses across U.S. border states.
