Donald Trump is facing a lawsuit from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, seeking to halt the construction of a new $300 million ballroom at the White House. The suit argues that no president can make such changes without public review and congressional approval, citing Trump’s extensive renovations since taking office. White House spokesman David Ingle defended Trump’s actions, stating they fall within his legal authority and emphasize that the project is privately funded. Critics argue Trump failed to consult necessary commissions before beginning work, contrasting his approach with that of past presidents.
