The CEO of the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, Marie Chapman, was found to have committed serious breaches of conduct, including yelling at staff and using inappropriate language, according to an investigation by the Office of the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner. The report, led by Commissioner Harriet Solloway, highlighted a decade-long pattern of bullying behavior that caused emotional harm to employees, some of whom contemplated self-harm. Despite disagreeing with the findings, Chapman acknowledged the need for improvement and the importance of employee wellness. The investigation recommended corrective measures and an external assessment of staff support needs.
