Iain Douglas-Hamilton, elephant conservationist, dies at 83

The Prince of Wales has paid tribute to pioneering elephant conservationist Iain Douglas-Hamilton, who died aged 83 at his home in Nairobi. A leading expert on African elephant behavior, he campaigned tirelessly against poaching, contributing to the international ivory trade ban. Prince William acknowledged his dedication to conservation, while friends, including Jane Goodall, recognized his impact on understanding elephants. Douglas-Hamilton founded Save the Elephants in 1993 and is survived by his family.
