The Libyan parliament has condemned Greece’s request to annul the 2019 maritime agreement with Turkey, labeling it a “clear violation of national sovereignty.” During a meeting in Athens, Greek Parliament Speaker Nikitas Kaklamanis urged the cancellation of the deal, which Libya’s second deputy speaker Misbah Ouhida rejected, asserting Libya’s right to make sovereign decisions without external interference. He emphasized the need for mutual respect in bilateral relations and called for Greece to refrain from meddling in Libya’s internal affairs.
