A fire broke out in a pavilion at the UN climate talks in Brazil, prompting delegates to flee and disrupting negotiations. UN and security teams quickly responded with extinguishers, as the blaze damaged the fabric roof of the Cop30 summit site in Belem. Brazilian Tourism Minister Celso Sabino reported no injuries, and the fire may have been caused by an electrical malfunction. The UN stated there was “limited damage,” but the site would remain closed until at least 8pm local time.
