Auckland man pleads not guilty to killing boy and father

An Auckland man, 38, charged with the murders of 11-year-old Ha-il Lee and his father, Jung Sup Lee, made his first appearance in the High Court. He requested name suppression until next week to allow his family to manage their affairs, a request granted by Justice Mathew Downs without opposition from the Crown. The charges stem from a house fire on Murvale Drive in Bucklands Beach, allegedly deliberately ignited with an accelerant. The bodies were discovered three weeks prior, on October 24.
