Two buildings at Joint Base Andrews were evacuated on Thursday after a suspicious package was opened around 1:00 p.m. EST. A base spokesperson confirmed the evacuation was a precautionary measure, with a cordon established around the area. First responders assessed the situation and found no immediate threats, handing the investigation over to the Office of Special Investigations. The base, located in Prince George’s County, Maryland, is known as the home of Air Force One.
