The NFL’s K-Ball Issue Continues to Grow

Kicking in the NFL has dramatically changed this season due to a rule change allowing teams to better prepare K-Balls for kickoffs and field goals. Proposal G-2, passed in 2025, permits teams access to 60 special K-Balls throughout the season, significantly enhancing kicking range. As a result, kickers are achieving longer field goals, with records being set and a notable increase in successful attempts from 55 yards or more.
