How does this make you feel?

Julia Cussins is a key figure at Sofas & Stuff, a company with a strong family history in furniture retail. Established in 2009 by Julia and her husband, Andrew Cussins, Sofas & Stuff is a testament to their shared vision, dedication to quality, and commitment to exceptional customer service.

The story of Sofas & Stuff begins with Andrew’s introduction to the furniture industry in 1980, when he started as an apprentice in his father’s company. The founding of Sofa Workshop in 1985 allowed Andrew to showcase his passion for crafting outstanding furniture, furnishing countless homes across the UK before its sale in 2002.

Julia brought her own unique perspective to the business, influenced by a life of commuting and travel. Together, she and Andrew identified a need for high-quality, bespoke British-made sofas and beds in their community in rural West Sussex, laying the groundwork for Sofas & Stuff.

The flagship store and head office in rural Fittleworth, West Sussex, reflect Julia’s understanding of creating a welcoming retail space. Non-traditional showrooms invite customers to explore at their own pace, offering an experience beyond standard shopping.

Julia’s dedication to customer satisfaction has been vital to Sofas & Stuff’s success. She believes in providing the best assistance possible to ensure every customer finds a product that meets their needs. This commitment to service has established Sofas & Stuff as a brand known for outstanding customer experience.

With 23 showrooms across the UK, each with a dedicated team, Julia and Andrew, along with their sons Sam and George, have solidified Sofas & Stuff as a family-run business.

Being part of the E2E Female 100 is a testament to Julia’s leadership and the impact of women in business. It recognizes not only Sofas & Stuff’s achievements but also celebrates female entrepreneurship and innovation. Julia’s role as a female co-founder emphasizes the importance of diversity in business leadership and inspires other women in the industry.

Looking forward, Julia and Andrew have ambitious plans to expand Sofas & Stuff to new communities across the UK, including locations in London, Exeter, and Glasgow. Their dedication to excellence and providing premium furniture and fabrics ensures Sofas & Stuff will continue to turn houses into homes for years to come.

As Sofas & Stuff joins the E2E Female 100, Julia’s leadership and dedication showcase female entrepreneurship in action. Her story, intertwined with Sofas & Stuff, is one of vision, hard work, and a commitment to quality, deserving of celebration.
