Anita Rose, a 57-year-old dog walker from Brantham, Suffolk, was brutally beaten to death by 56-year-old fugitive Roy Barclay while walking her dog on July 24 last year. The court heard that Rose suffered multiple kicks and blows, and her body was discovered with her dog’s lead wrapped around her leg; she died four days later. Evidence linking Barclay to the crime includes Rose’s pink jacket found at his campsite, along with items like her phone case and earbuds, while he denies the murder and the trial is set to last eight weeks.
