SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has appointed National Development Minister Chee Hong Tat as chairman of the Chinese Community Liaison Group (CCLG) effective May 23, succeeding Law Minister Edwin Tong, who remains an adviser. Wong expressed confidence in Chee’s ability to strengthen ties with Chinese community organizations and praised Tong’s contributions, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Established in 2000, the CCLG aims to enhance the government’s relationship with Chinese community groups.
