At least 17 people, including six children under five years old, have died in a building fire that erupted on the ground floor of a structure in Hyderabad, India, on Sunday. The fire quickly spread to upper floors, prompting a response from about a dozen firefighting vehicles, according to the Telangana Fire, Disaster Response, Emergency and Civil Defence Department. Preliminary inquiries from India’s Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy suggest that a short circuit may have caused the blaze.
