Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in a Vatican basilica to discuss a potential ceasefire, with Trump criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin for escalating the conflict. The White House described the meeting as “very productive,” while Trump indicated that differences remain between U.S. peace proposals and Ukrainian expectations regarding territorial concessions. Despite ongoing mediation efforts, fighting continues, with Trump warning that U.S. involvement could cease if an agreement is not reached soon.
