Arsenal blast their way into Champions League semis

Arsenal defeated defending champions Real Madrid 2-1 to advance to the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2009, winning 5-1 on aggregate after a 3-0 first-leg victory. Despite a missed penalty from Bukayo Saka, Arsenal’s goals from Saka and Gabriel Martinelli secured the win, while Real Madrid’s hopes were thwarted by a VAR review that overturned an earlier penalty decision. In the other quarter-final, Inter Milan progressed past Bayern Munich 4-3 on aggregate, setting up a semi-final clash with Barcelona.
