Myanmar quake death toll rises sharply to 1002, more than 2000 injured

The death toll from a 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar has risen to 1,002, with 2,376 injured and 30 missing, as international aid arrives and rescue operations continue. General Min Aung Hlaing of the junta warned of more casualties and invited foreign assistance, with China, Russia, and the US offering aid. In Thailand, nine people have died and 101 are missing in Bangkok following the collapse of a tower, prompting a massive rescue effort and search for survivors.
