Ohio grandmother mauled to death by pit bulls while ‘peacefully gardening’: lawsuit

A lawsuit filed on behalf of the family of Jo Ann Echelbarger, who was mauled to death by two pit bulls in Ohio, revealed that the dogs had a history of attacks and had even ingested cocaine weeks before the fatal incident. The dogs, owned by Susan and Adam Withers, had been involved in previous violent incidents, including an attack on a resident and their dog in 2023. Despite a court order to remove the dogs from the residential complex where the attack occurred, the dogs were allowed to roam freely, leading to the tragic death of Echelbarger.
