In Goma, Congo, nine U.N. peacekeepers were injured in clashes with the M23 armed group as the rebels approach the city. M23 has been gaining ground, surrounding Goma, a vital hub for security and humanitarian efforts. The rebel group, accused of being backed by Rwanda, has displaced over 400,000 people this year, worsening conditions in overcrowded displacement centers and leading to an increase in cholera cases.
