Alonzo Newbern of Elkhart High School was named the NIC MVP, while Chad Wetzel of Penn High School received the Coach of the Year award in boys track for the Northern Indiana Conference. Newbern won the 100 and 200-meter dash at the NIC Meet, contributing to his team’s second-place finish, while Wetzel led the Kingsmen to the NIC championship with 193.5 points. The All-NIC list featured several top performers, including Will Elick of Saint Joseph, Max Malloy of Elkhart, and multiple relay teams from Penn and Elkhart.
