Political will and the establishment of forward base camps in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region have led to a significant increase in anti-Maoist operations and casualties, with 81 Maoists killed so far in 2024. The government’s aggressive approach, along with the Niyad Nellanar scheme providing amenities to villagers, has helped restrict Maoist movement. Improved coordination between security forces, tactics, and strategy enhancements have also contributed to the success of operations in eradicating Left-wing extremism by March 2026.
