Joshua Spooner fined $3000 for selling crayfish and pāua on Facebook

A man from Nelson, Joshua Spooner, has been fined $3000 after selling crayfish and attempting to sell pāua illegally following a recreational diving trip. Spooner claimed he was unaware of the illegality of his actions, stating he was trying to supplement his family’s income. In addition to the fine, he incurred another $3000 in costs to recover his seized vehicle.
